Lauralton Hall's athletic teams are governed by the rules and regulations of the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) and Lauralton Hall is a member of the South West Conference (SWC). The SWC provides very competitive schedules in all sports and is comprised of 17 outstanding schools in Connecticut.
The motto of the Athletic Department, "We've got the spirit!" summarizes what Lauralton Hall's student-athletes experience—the joy of competition, pride in their school and their personal accomplishments, and pride in the spirit to win or lose with heads held high. In conjunction with the school's mission statement, the Athletic Department at Lauralton Hall strives to provide what is best for all student athletes. The school has created an athletic atmosphere based on the ideas of fair play, honest competition and respect for all those associated with any and all athletic contests.
The Lauralton Hall Athletics Handbook provides a wealth of information for student-athletes and their parents.
Interscholastic Sports Permission Form
Student athletes and their parents are required to complete, sign and submit this form prior to participating in any varsity, junior varsity or club sport at Lauralton Hall. The form provides a warning statement that participation involves the potential for injury that is inherent in all sports. Parents provide emergency medical information and, by signing the form, acknowledge acceptance of the rules and regulations set in the Lauralton Hall Athletics Handbook.
Sports Participation Health Record Form
Annual current physical examinations are required of a student who participates in any varsity, junior varsity or club sport. Sports Participation Health Record forms are sent to all Lauralton Hall parents each year in the spring. The form must be completed and returned to school marked for the Athletic Director prior to the first day of team tryouts. A current Sports Participation Health Record Form must be on file at school in order for a student to try out for, practice or play a sport at Lauralton Hall.
The CIAC provides directions to all affiliated schools at www.casciac.org/directions.shtml. Enter the name of the school to which you need directions and click on "perform search". In the "detail" column, click on "view." Click on "get directions/map" and follow prompts.
NCAA: Student-athletes planning to compete at the college level must be certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse for Division I or Division II. The necessary forms are available in the Guidance office and should be mailed early in the fall of the student's senior year. Students are also encouraged to visit the website of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at www.ncaa.org for general information and the NCAA Clearinghouse website at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net for information on preparation for participation and eligibility.
